100 Girls

Sandiway Golf Club’s 100 Golfing Girls

To help us celebrate our 100th anniversary in 2020, we plan to introduce 100 girls, aged 6 to 18, to the game of golf.

We’re taking the sport into local schools and junior girls' social groups, inspiring them to come along to free and fun golf sessions. Even if we haven’t been to your school yet, you can still come to a free session (see dates below)

Our centenary will not only celebrate the last 100 years, but also be a springboard to prepare for the next 100. We cannot do that without producing the women players of our future.

Like most other clubs, we don’t have enough girl golfers, so Sandiway is taking golf to them! We believe many girls who have never even considered golf as a sport, will love it as much as we do.

Our professional Gareth Jones coaches girls aged from 6 to 18 at local schools and groups in how to use junior-sized clubs, and invites the girls to a free session at Sandiway's newly refurbished practice ground and introduces them to the Golf Foundation's national Golf Passport scheme which turns them into real golfers.

It is our aim to be able to say in our 100th year that we have introduced at least 100 girls to the fabulous game of golf, and encouraged a good percentage of those to take up the game as their sport of choice, hopefully for life.
