A 1992 Concise History of Sandiway Golf Club

Compiled by Alan Seaman, Club Secretary 1981-88

Introduction   (An eloquent paragraph from the foreword to this unique history by A.G. Diggle, Club Captain 1992-93).

Alan Seaman, Club Secretary from 1981-88, has from various sources compiled this concise history of Sandiway Golf Club. Two years it took him to sift through many documents and to record coherently the salient events in its birth and growth. It displays the development of the Club, its near demise and eventual salvation. Our thanks to the foresight and unselfishness of many of the early members and the financial security offered by the original Brunner Mond & Co. and its successor, Imperial Chemical Industries Ltd., is now on record.'
